Practice Focus

Boutique by design

Smaller firm, specialized practice. Direct access to senior counsel without the overhead of a larger shop.

Built for employers

Every matter we take is on behalf of management. We know the laws, the agencies, and how to keep clients ahead of them.

Resolved before court

Transactional employment work, not litigation. We help resolve matters at the policy and agency stage, before they escalate.

01 What We Do

A focused practice in workforce law.

Eight practice areas, all built around the work employers actually face: drafting policies, responding to agency complaints, restructuring teams, and keeping the business compliant on every front.

01

Employment Policies & Compliance

Handbooks, anti-harassment and FMLA/ADA/FLSA policy, wage and hour audits, non-competes, and contracts.

02

Workplace Investigations

Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints investigated thoroughly, with clear recommendations.

03

Labor Relations & Bargaining

Grievance handling, collective bargaining counsel, NLRB matters, and day-to-day labor law guidance.

04

Corporate Governance

Bylaws, board governance, internal policies, and counsel for the everyday decisions that shape your business.

ALSO IN OUR PRACTICE:
Agency Investigations & Audits · Separation Agreements & Terminations · Unemployment Hearings & Mediation · Training & CLE Presentations

02 Agency Defense

We represent employers before state and federal agencies.

When an employee complaint or audit lands in front of a regulator, we step in early, manage the response, and work to resolve matters before they reach litigation.

EEOC

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

KHRC

Kansas Human Rights Commission

DOL

of Labor

NLRB

National Labor Relations Board

OSHA

Occupational Safety & Health Admin.

A note on scope

Our work is transactional. We advise, draft, investigate, and represent employers through the agency stage. If a matter requires litigation, we help connect you to the right resource.

03 The Firm

A small firm with uncommon depth.

Dietrick Law has spent decades inside the issues that keep employers up at night: handbooks that need updating, FMLA and ADA questions, the complaint that just arrived from the EEOC, the restructuring that has to happen quickly and quietly.

We work out of a historic former U.S. Post Office in downtown Topeka. The original signage is still on the front and our blue awning hangs above the entrance. Real building, real people, real phones answered by real staff. Boutique by choice, with the experience of a much larger firm and the responsiveness of a much smaller one.
